He had his West African School Certificate in 1980 from Government College Umuahia and he was in Federal School of Arts and Science Aba where he had his H.S.C. Certificate.
He then gained admission to University of Lagos where h graduated with Second Class Upper Division in Law (L.L.M.) from University of Lagos.

He was State counsel with the Lagos State ministry of justice from October 1987 to September 1988 and also Junior Counsel in Charles Asugba & Co from 1988 to 1991.

He had been the Principal Partner in Uche Ihediwa & Co. from 1991 till 2007 when he was appointed the Commissioner for Youth Development Abia State.

A brilliant and unassuming person, Ihediwa was until recently the Secretary of Government College Umuahia Old Boys Association, Lagos Branch, Secretary Ngwa Social Club, Lagos.
Member International Bar Association (IBA) and Member Nigerian Bar Association N.B.A.

He has had a lot of academic distinctions:

1. Teslim Elias Scholarhip Scholar, University of Lagos.
2. Chief Chris Ogunbanjo Scholarship Scholar University of Lagos
3. Silver medalist, Hon. Justice Teslim Elias International moot competition.
4. Best student in History Club, Federal School of Arts and Sceince Aba.
He was also co-author of “Privilege and confidentiality. A handbook published by International Bar Association.

He is married to Adaobi with children.
