The London Chapter of the GCUOBA held their International Meeting and Launching of the Association from Friday the 22nd of August to Sunday the 24th of August 2008. The event which was held at the Renaissance Chancery Court [Marriott Hotel] London, had in attendance top dignitries and old boys from Government College Umuahia

The three-day event featured amongst other events the reunion night where members of the GCUOBA had the opportunity of meeting fellow old boys of the college. There was also a conference, a sight seeing tour and also a gala night and fundraising dinner to raise funds for the association. Read More

2008 Home Coming Anniversary

The 3 day event was held at the Government College Umuahia from Friday 2nd May through to Sunday the 4th of May 2008. It had in attendance top dignitaries and government functionaries from various parts of the country including The Governors of Abia and Imo States, HRH Dr. Edmund Daukoru the Mingi XII Amayanabo of Nembe Kingdom, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, National Chairman PDP and a host of others.

The Welcome address at the event was presented by Dr. Emmanuel Ukpong, National President GCUOBA while the closing vote of thanks was given by the host Governor, His Excellency Chief T.A. Orji.The Highlights of the event were the unveiling of the projects to be commisioned by the GCUOBA such as the Simpson House, Fisher House, New House, and the Ad Block.

Aso Rock Scandal!

Some controversial pictures (posted on Sahara Reporters) had some weeks back, caused quite a stir within the secret/hallowed walls of Aso Rock Villa. They portray Musa Yar Adua (Mr President's son from Hajia Turai) flashing stacks/wads of N1000 bills and brandishing what looks like an AK47. He is further described as "the WILD WILD one"...........

2007 Dinner/Awards Night of the GCUOBA, Lagos Branch

The 8th December, 2007 Dinner/Awards of the GCUOBA lagos branch, held at Sheraton hotels & Towers, Ikeja by 5.30 PM was indeed a success. The Executive Governors of Lagos, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers and Bayelsa States were duly represented and the atmosphere was full of excitement.

The Golden Jubilee awardees include Igwe Prof. Laz Ekwueme, Engr. Lawrence Amu, Engr. B. O. Anyaoku, Ben Osuno, Col. A. O. Eze (Rtd.), Engr. Dom Ekesi, Prof. Eugene Arene, Engr. P. N. Obidike, Chris oyeka, Engr. Chris Okoye, Barr. Theodore Ezeobi(SAN), Surv. Demian Nzenwa, Joseph Iroh etc.
